Ever wonder what it would be like if life and politics were like a chess game? I have a good friend of mine that has written a good piece about his thoughts on this subject, and was kind enough to share them with me, and it is simply called "Chessboard". His name is Steve Myers, and he has given me permission to write about his concepts of politics and how he perceives them in the format of a chess game. I found this very profound in the sense that I imagined myself sitting at a card table, looking down on this chess game of politics and life in general. I am going to break this down for you in Steve's own words, and will share his concepts with you just because it is interesting to see how people perceive how life really is, and how they relate to them. This concept identifies the pieces of the chess game, and breaking them out as to how he perceives how they are "played" in life. Here are his interesting thoughts;

CHESSBOARD
by Steve Myers

 Pawns: Us, regular people...The sheep who live under the illusion of freedom and democracy. Blind to the world and distracted by reality T.V., celebrity lifestyles and "dumb down" entertainment. This is meant to keep them (Pawns) occupied from what is going on in front of them. Taught that they should always stay in their place and under the impression that they can move ahead, but only one step at a time.

Knights: The police, the military and private security firms. A force made to act as protectors of the country's ideals and freedoms, but only moves to attack or defend in the interest of the country's elite and not to it's people. They act as the country's enforcers, "Gate Keepers", thieves, shock troops and meant to keep the populace down and to subject force on any that resist them even if those they force are the ones that they are supposed to protect.

Bishops: Various religious orders meant to separate the people into different sects under the guise of the Lord. Taught that anything other than total undeniable faith and devotion can bring you God's love. changing it's own laws and rules to suit their own basic needs, hiding it's scandal and shame in the shadows.

Rooks: Politicians, Prime ministers and Presidents...the so called "Powers that be" policy and law makers who are actually high positioned Pawns themselves. The public face of the government that we are allowed to see. They enforce the rules for the people while others set them. They create the distractions (Gas prices, Global warming, Gay marriage, war, elections, immigration), that blind people to the "Real World". Government officials that play the part of the liberal, but are subject to the whims and desires of their own political party not allowing free thought of speech but only an imaginary choice of extreme left or extreme right but only as it is in the interest of their own groups.

Kings: Bankers, CEO:S, Power Brokers, Industrial Tycoons, World Leaders...The people who actually make the policy and laws that we live under. The World Government. The small group of people that live above the law. They make decisions that will profit them while slowly bleeding the rest of the world dry...

Queens: Them...The ones we do not see.

Acknowledgment of concept goes to the Author, Steve Myers

It is always refreshing to me to see that freedom of speech, thoughts and expression are still alive and well in a country that is so troubled. I wrote about this because it is just that. This truly made me think about other concepts, that are more complexed and thought out, than that of my own opinions. Oh yes, I do have opinions, and beliefs of my own, but it is always a pleasure to share the thoughts of others... as "Food For Thought".

My thanks go to Steve Myers , for his thoughts and his concepts, and may we all take this time to think about these troubled times we live in. Hopefully most of us voted a couple of weeks ago, and like most of you, I am trying to vote for positive changes. I hope it will happen in our lifetimes, and those of our children.

I love your friend's perception of how life is played out. Definitely agree with the category of kings...

I do too Jennifer, and I agree with the "Kings" comment that you made. I really appreciate that you stopped by and read my article. Steve is a young man that has a perspective beyond his years, and it is refreshing to see that today's youth or younger folks take this kind of interest in our society, it makes me think that there are those out there in today's youth that ARE paying attention. Thanks again.

Very interesting piece Gary. Haven't heard from you in a long time. I would have to agree with your friend when he says its the kings that run this world. I also agree when he says we the people are the pawns. He is a very perceptive young man indeed.

Why thank you for your response Linda! I haven't been around for awhile as I have been busy writing my book(s) and working on them. Also getting ready for "Semi-Retirement" starting in Feb of next year. Yes indeed, Steve has a good insight as to what is, as one of my colleagues at the place where I work, I respect his opinions and observations. He's a good man. I will let him know you responded to his thoughts (I am trying to get him to write on SearchWarp, and hopefully he will come around). Good to hear from you, and to see that you are still here! Your friend in pen...Gary.
