Why Is It That All The Good Burritos Are Made In California?

I recently went back to California to attend my nieces graduation from college, my wife and I was there for her sisters graduation, and we thought it only fair to be there for hers, besides, what better way to meet up with family and friends than at a family function like a good ole' college graduation! Stephanie was surely worth the trip. But secretly (insert whisper tone here), just between you and I, I went for the burritos!! There is this place that I used to go to all the time, called "Supertacoria", they make the worlds best burritos. I told my wife, if we go to California, there is two things I HAVE TO DO!  Number one, is go to "Supertacoria", and get my favorite burrito, (it has to be the whole bean, and cheese, with pico de gayo). It is the best with the green chili, and the cheese, and atmosphere. Then, number two, I have to go to the Santa Cruz Wharf, and have a wonderful bowl of Clam Chowder from a place called Stagnerios.

 

Talk about atmosphere, you are right on the ocean, way out on a pier, you have to drive out there, and all of the sea gulls and seals, not to mention the boardwalk and the sail boats. It always seems to be windy out there, and the smell of the ocean takes me back to my Navy days as I spent allot of time on the water. There is nothing more beautiful that to be sailing out on the ocean, at night, with a full moon, it is like looking at a big candle laying on the water with the moon at the end as it's flame. What a glorious sight, with the phosphorus glowing in the water as it is being stirred up by the ships propeller. Anyway, (snap out of it Gary), getting back to my visit. My niece's graduation had 2,000 student that were graduating from their senior class, and that is allot of kids folk! Fortunately, I didn't have to sit through all 2,000, as they had all received their diplomas the day before. I also got to visit for one whole day with my daughter Tania and her husband David and my grandson Evan, and had some home made dark beer that was great, and it was ice cold along with a good BBQ. On the way home to Tucson, we went down to Corona to see my son and his wife Jennifer and my grandchildren since it was on the way home, and we had a BBQ there, (I cooked and made some home made salsa, and we spent the night there and left the next day for home. 

 

All in all it was a great visit. Went to the graduation, seen all of the family, had a great time staying with my beautiful sister in law, and I took my mother in law out, just me and her, for a wonderful burrito at Supertacoria, (by the way, my mother in law really liked the burrito), and we had a great chat together, I miss her so, she is great, and then we capped it off with my sister in law taking us to the Santa Cruz Wharf for that wonderful bowl of clam chowder. Life couldn't get any better, and I look forward to going to California again to see family and kids, and do it all over again. I wish you could have been there, in a way, you were, at least in my heart.
