I would first like to say that there has never been a time that this writer has been so moved, and inspired by someone as I was with Miss Susan Boyle. When I watched her clip on "YouTube", it took me 5 minutes to get the goose bumps off of my arms, and I am still shaken by her performance. God has graced this woman with one of the most powerful voices that I have ever heard in my years of entertainment. There is a reason for all the news about this woman, both on television, radio, and the Internet. If I would ever be fortunate enough to ever meet this wonderful soul, I would embracer her with all my heart. She is an inspiration to us all, and this writer would indeed like to send his blessings to her. Bravo Miss Boyle, Bravo! (Be sure to watch the videos via the hotlinks to both Elaine Paiges version, original, and also Miss Susan Boyle later in the article, click on both links, you will love them)!

Susan Boyle 47 is a YouTube sensation from Whitburn, Scotland, and she was absolutely brilliant to say the least on "Britains Got Talent". Her debut was astounding, and thought to be, a "Cinderella's Dream come true". Susan's performance of I Dreamed A Dream of Les Miserables was absolutely amazing. Susan is a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitburn, Scotland, and visits elderly members of the congregation at their homes, and is in the choir there as well. What this writer liked about her is the fact that she was so down to earth and was definitely in touch with reality. She was quoted as saying and I quote, "I am happy to be short and plump, I like the way I am". She is a person that has always wanted to be a professional singer, and her aspirations were to be like that of Elaine Paige " Elaine Paige - I Dreamed A Dream . (This is Elaine Paige's rendendition of I Dreamed A Dream")

Of course the judges rolled their eyes at her, and the audience all laughed at her, and they were quick to by cynical of Miss Boyle, but the minute she opened her mouth to sing, as one of the judges put it "It was a big wake up call, not to be cynical of someone".

She has captured the hearts of millions (mine was one of them she captured), and has had over 12 million YouTube views and hits at the time I watched it. When I watched her perform, my heart was in my throat, and I was amazed at the beauty of this lovely woman from within. When she took to the stage you could see the looks on everyone's faces of doubt, as if to say, "What can this plain woman do"? She smiled at the judges, and began singing, and if you watch the clip, you can see the change of expression on everyone's faces, including the audience members. I am consistently amazed at the way God makes each and everyone of us, and the gifts that he gives us, cannot be judged by outward appearances. I would encourage each and every one of you to go on YouTube, and see her performance, it is well worth the time to go watch. When Susan Boyle stepped onto the stage of "Britain's Got Talent" one would never expect what they were about to hear, at least those of us that are unsuspecting. It was a delightful, and a heartfelt performance done by Miss Boyle, and this writer would not have missed it for the world.

Gary U.S. Bonds,

Hey, Gar-ster, what's up? I had heard about this woman for some time and avoided checking out the buzz like the plague. Personally, I don't watch TV beyond my sports highlights, The History Channel, and the occasional movie. I find too much of television's popular stuff draining on my psyche, never mind it sapping any intelligence I may have acquired at some point ;=)

However, one day I received an email from my business coach asking us to view the video. He told us to pay attention to Ms. Boyle's demeanor and attitude using this as an opportunity to coach us about getting out of our comfort zones and the quality of the person it takes to be brave enough to do so. And he told us to watch the people's responses and to see if this is what we may be afraid of in attaining our dreams.

Personally, I've shot myself out of my comfort zone some 25 years ago taking to the stage as a super-super-super shy and introverted young man looking to get rid of this debilitating disease known to humankind as fear. We all have it, but only the successful know that they MUST learn to manage it in order to do what we were put here to do: achieve. For it is only through achievement that we can rise to the occasion and then bend down to bring others just as fearful up to new heights. This is exactly what the brave, honorable, humble and instructive Ms. Boyle has done.

May she shine on not only as an example of inner vocal beauty but beauty of the indomitable human spirit that must rise, that must overcome, that must kick fear's ass to bring that great gift known as the human spirit to life.

God bless you and yours. Thanks for the great article, hombre. Peace!

Wow Jeff, what a wonderful insight and comment you have made. and your absolutely right. I really don't watch TV hardly ever, but I do keep my fingers on the pulse of the entertainment industry, and I watch these sort of clips, and evaluate them for a small paper locally in Tucson, and you are so right about the human spirit, I have been in entertainment for years as an actor/stuntman/and singer, and I have had to defeat those fears you speak of, and have done so with much success, but once you have done it, as you may well know, it's all about the mind, and the willingness to do these things....I admire Susan, she is not only brave, but has a talent that made all of the judges jaws drop to the table....Bravo to her, and bravo to you.....thanks for your wonderful insight and comments.....your friend and pal....Gary.

Yeah, I see the stuntman-actor in your picture. It certainly takes a LOT of overcoming to get up there on a regular basis and do it, doesn't it? More people should get up there, they'd appreciate what it takes and, like those in the audience, might be a little less jaded. I don't have a problem with the audience as much as I do with the judges being . . . judgemental? Sad state of affairs. But I'll tell ya, that voice . . . phew! How beautiful? I don't watch that show, but I have heard some of the singers who've made it and by far her voice outshines ANYTHING I've heard. All I can say is AMAZING! It is as if God is saying through Ms. Boyle, learn from this child of mine. Learn many important things. Peace!
