It was high noon, in 1880, in the Old Town Of Tucson, shortly after the Gunfight at the OK Corral, when Marshal Jack Reese, was sitting in his office, and was cleaning his six shooter, when suddenly, Ruby, who was one of the "Ladies of the Saloon, (and might I add), "Of the night" ran into the Marshals office yelling to the top of her lungs, "Marshal, Duke is in the saloon again, drunker than a skunk, and he's disrupting our show, you gotta make him stop, arrest him or something"!! "Ok, Ok," said the Marshal, "Is Lil in there today"? "Yes" said Ruby, "But we need you over there RIGHT NOW, he is breakin' up things, people are leaving, you need to get him out of there"! The marshal said "Hummm, Duke you say"? "Yes" she yelled, "C'mon". So the marshal holstered his six-shooter, and then headed over to the Grand Palace Hotel and Saloon. As they were approaching the saloon, the marshal heard Duke throwing chairs, and yelling, "C'mon you yella bellies, do something about it, hey Jake, what are you lookin' at"?

Marshal Reese and Duke went way back, they grew up together, and Duke went his way, and the marshal, well, became a marshal. Jack Reese knew that Duke was behind a lot of shady deals, but could never prove it, so this out burst from Duke was not uncommon. The Marshal made his way into the saloon, and he approached Duke from behind, and when Jake looked at the marshal, Duke spun around, and found the butt of the marshal's six shooter land right on his forehead, knocking him down. The marshal leaned down, and grabbed Duke by his vest, and dragged him out of the saloon, and threw him out on the street. "Go sleep it off Duke, if I told you once, I told you a million times to stay out of the saloon if'n ya can't handle yer liquor". The marshal was heading back into the saloon, (he wanted to see Lil), when he heard Duke behind him saying, "Marshal, you ain't no better then me, well hell, I even heard that you spent some time in Folsom Prison, is that true Marshal"? The marshal slowly turned, he narrowed his eyes at Duke, "That very well may be true, but I learned my lesson, but you haven't learned your you lesson have you?" As the marshal turned to go back into the saloon, someone on the street yelled, "Marshal, look out!" The marshal spun around, and Duke had drawn his gun, and was about ready to shoot the marshal in the back, and the marshal drew his gun, and shot the six shooter out of Duke's hand. "You're under arrest Duke, and your going to spend the night in my jail!"

The marshal picked up Duke's six shooter, and thought for a minute, "I'll tell you what, you have two choices, one, go to jail, or get out of town, and I don't want to see your face in my town again, so which will it be?" "I'll leave," said Duke, "Do I get my gun back?" The marshal emptied the six-shooter, and threw it on the ground at Duke's feet, "Now pick it up, get on your horse, and get!" Duke bent down, holstered his gun, and walked over to his horse, and mounted it, and as he turned to head out of town, the marshal heard him say, "This ain't over marshal, not by long shot, I WILL see you again!" The marshal just grinned, "We'll see Duke, we'll see!" The marshal had received threats like this before from Duke, they don't mean nothin'or do they

Nice! Is this fiction or a memory from a former life?
