As she passed by him, he could smell the wonderful fragrance of her perfume lingering in the air when she walked by. He turned his head, and looked at her as she was being led to her table. He slowly moved to the other side of his table, so it wasn't to obvious, to admire her as she was being handed the menu. He gaged her features as being petite, her eyes were the color of crystal blue, and her lips were red and pursed, as she spoke to the waiter, while he was pouring her wine. "I wonder what her name is"? he thought. He was a single bachelor of 30, and she looked to be about 24 or 25, and she was absolutely stunning. Her thick long auburn hair shined like glass as she moved her head, she was a picture of perfection he thought. He had not dated for quite some time, in fact, he hadn't dated since he broke up with his ex-girlfriend Monique. That was months ago. His heart just wasn't in it, dating that is as he was totally in love with Monique, and she had broke it off with him, while he was in Iraq. She had told him that the long distance relationship was to hard on her, and that she needed someone in her life that could be with her now because she was lonely.

His name was Michael Swift, and he had just arrived back from Iraq, as he was still in the Navy, he was a combat pilot aboard the Aircraft Carrier the USS Enterprise. His rank was Captain, and Monique's reasoning for their split up, was the fact that she didn't want to be a girlfriend or wife to a career Navy Captain, who may never come home, she just didn't want that worry. He understood, but never the less, he still loved her. But he knew it was time to move on, and meet new friends, and perhaps find love again. He knew that allot of his buddies had the same problem, it was hard to find a woman strong enough, to endure a relationship of a combat pilot. It was common in their profession.

His concentration had been broken when the waiter said, "Good evening sir, are you ready to order"? Michael said, "Yes, I think I am, how is your lobster this evening"? the waiter responded "It is fresh from Maine, and we keep them alive in the tank up front, and you can pick the one you want, would you like to select it now"? "Yes" Michael replied, "I think I will". So they went to the tank, and Michael was looking for the Lobster that he wanted, and Michelle had by now, noticed him. She loved a man in uniform, he was wearing his dress whites, and he looked great to her, she loved how tall he was, and his wonderful smile, his teeth were really white, and straight as can be, and she really thought he was handsome. She had to laugh when he finally found the Lobster that he wanted, and between him, and the waiter trying to roll up his sleeve to get the Lobster, it was a major ordeal. As the waiter took the Lobster out of the water, the Lobster "flicked" its tail, and got water all over Michaels dress whites.

Michelle was laughing when she saw how wet he got, and she offered him her extra napkin when he sat back down at his table, he was a little embarrassed, but this would be a perfect time to introduce himself, "Hi, my name is Michael Swift, I feel like an idiot, I guess that Lobster knows what is in store for him, and he got me pretty good" he laughed. "Yes he did Mr. Swift, he sure did"! "Just call me Mike" he said, and his broad smile more or less broke the ice, and he asked if she was sitting alone, she said "Yes I am " so he asked if she wanted some company, as he was on leave, and it was nice just having someone to talk to. She said "Sure, c'mon over, my name is Michelle Anderson, and I would love the company"! He got his drink, he liked his red wine, "Goes great with anything" he said. And brought it over to her table, and his hat, as he was still trying to dab the napkin on his shirt to dry it off.

As they sipped on their wine, they were deep in conversation when the waiter came over with Michael's Lobster, and Michelle's Filet Mignon, and as they began to eat, Michael started shelling the Lobster tail, and he noticed that Michelle was saying grace silently to herself, and he lowered his knife, and bowed his head, and did the same. He liked the fact that she was not afraid to pray, no matter where she was, and he thought that was cool and showed independence. He wasn't really a person that did that sort of thing, but he respected those that did. And he found it refreshing that she was perfectly comfortable with it. He was really starting to like Michelle, and he was wanting to ask her what she was doing the following day, as he would like to take her for a tour of his "boat" while it was in port. She said, "I would love to", it was on a Saturday, and that would be a perfect thing to do on a Saturday. After all, it wasn't everyday that one could take a tour on a huge carrier...They had a wonderful chat, and agreed to meet at the pier the next day, at 11:00am on 32nd St, and she could have lunch aboard the USS Enterprise, which would be his treat. They knew they had a connection, the moment "when their eyes met". She love his cologne, Jovan Musk was it....? To be continued.....
