Our Glorious Spirits
We all have spirits,
to me that's a fact,
to see it is one thing,
would you know how to act?
What would it look like?
What makes it work?
Could it be a kind spirit?
Would it be a jerk?
The thing that makes us tick,
our spirit.... it would be,
yours would be different,
so different than me!
Do you believe in spirit's?
Oh my friend....I think I do,
Just because you can't see it,
doesn't mean its not true!
"Where does it go,
when we pass on" you ask.
Is it used again,
or has it completed its task?
I prefer to think not,
this spirit in me,
it just lives on and on,
This beautiful entity.
We all are different,
because of our spirit's.....you see.
This soul of ours....God gave,
to folks like you and me.
So live it pure,
and live it free,
it's the only one,
we've got..you see.
Treat it kind,
and nurture it too,
This wonderful entity,
that lives within me and you!!

Hi Gary, great poem. I am thankful my spirit is my own and no one elses, for I would feel sorry for them :-) Thank God for his grace. What great thoughts that came to you. I believe that just as there is the Holy Trinity made up of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, us humans have three components. Our body, our soul, and our spirit.Great job here and wondeful food for thought!!Thanks Ken, and your comments are a blessing to this ole guy....I did this as a challenge at a poetry site, and they seemed to love it.....but it is what I think....I love my spirit, as I know the almighty gave it to me.....and you yours....Thanks for the read, and wonderful comments my friend, you fan......Gary.
Yes, our spirit is the real 'us'. Our body is the housing for our spirit. I'm just glad that we don't see spirits; it would make my job at the funeral home a little too weird.David, hahahahhahahaha now this is funny, leave it to you to come up with that....seeing the spirits....hahahahhaahha, making your job weird, hahahaha that is too funny......But aren't the great things.....I love my spirit, and Know you have to love yours as well as your gift of poetry......Your fan, and friend.......Gary.......
