Articles Gone Un-Noticed By SearchWarp Readers. How Can We Fix It? Any Ideas?

I know that sometime folks cannot write, and since i like to read, I go back into their archives, and see what they have there to review, and you would be surprised at what I find. Folks have a tendency to read the most current stuff that we all put out on a daily basis. However, what about those articles that "Slip By"? Most of them are great, and I think we owe it to the writer, to review them as well. I love to dig into the old stuff of a writer, to see how much they have changed in their writing techniques as opposed to the way they write now.

Some of us work, so we have a harder time writing as often as we would like to because we DO work. I work full time for UPS, and so I have to juggle my reading of my fans work, and also my writing. It is a full time job, to keep up your ratings, and your popularity ratings, if you have to take a trip, or if you have to work, you loose those ratings. So to get around this, I propose that we all look into the writers archives that only have 1 or two reviews, and give them a read. After all, the writer probably put allot of heart and soul into what they have written. Don't you think it deserves our reviews? I do. I have went back into some folks articles, to name a few, Teresa, Ken, David P, and David T., Me, Sandra's, and Creative Bloggers, as well as Christines and Robert's work, and that is just to name a few. I went into some of these archives, and lo and behold, there is allot there that was either missed, or not reviewed at all!

So I am proposing an idea, I think it would be so cool, to come up with a way to review these articles and help boost our fan's ratings in the interim...what do you think. I for one wouldn't mind doing this at all, as there are some very interesting articles to read out there!! I would think we would not want to see these go to waste. So it would be nice for everybody to "Repost" their old articles that got little or no attention, and have them post them for review. That way, their hard work does not go unnoticed. It would be up to the immediate writer to repost their own old articles that had little or no input. They do sometimes just slip by, with all of the writing that we all do. It's hard to keep up, not to mention that we can totally miss an article. Even those with very little input....I think that it would be worthwhile reviewing....what do you think? It's just a thought. We all like to write, but if its not read, or reviewed, then that is a waste of time and talent, don'tcha think?

I don't know, Gary. I've looked back on some of my stuff and the stench drove me back! Actually it sounds like a nice idea, but is likely impractical due to the sheer numbers. But Bruce would know fo' sho'

ps. How do you get those text links in your work? Does that affect ratings?

Howdy Ken, Naw the hot links do not increase your ratings at all. but if you wnat to join to have these Keyword links turned on, just go into the Earn Money With your articles icon in the control panel, and open it up, and follow the instructions to join Kontera....it will explain the how too's. But I haven't found that in helps the ratings dept. About this idea, I have went into some of the fan clubs I have joined like Thom Richards, and Dr. Jeannette Kavanagh's just to name a couple, and believe me, there more, and they haven't had a chance to write, so I go to some of the old stuff that I haven't read, and try to help keep their ratings up there. But it was just a thought. I bet I can go into just about anybodys list of work, and find where there is either low response, or no response....and find them, but again...just a thought or idea of how to help when they can't write.....Thanks for commenting on this, and for reading it...I appreciate the support, (that is what keeps the ratings up there) but you have to work like the dickens to maintain it!! lol......Your friend in pen, and fan....Gary

I'm glad you brought this topic up, Gary. I have noticed that a lot of my old works have not been read all that much, but I'm sure it's because I was new to the site, and of course when you're new your works are not read as much.
I'm not sure re-posting would work though. I accidentally posted a piece twice and Bruce picked up on it and sent me an email saying that it had been posted already. I guess we would have to ask Bruce about that one.
I do think that we should all make it a point to look at older works once in a while. I'm up for the challenge and will do so as time permits.

Howdy David, great to hear from you....I am making my rounds for my fans, and I have come to realize that some of the folks really don't have a chance to write sometime, so I decided to start looking at their past works, to let them know I still enjoy their work, and that I am thinking of them.....I am going to do the same to yours as well. As I am sure much is missed in your archives. I think we just need to let folks know its there....hopefully, that will keep up some of the slack when we are mowing the lawn, hee...hee..hee....and planting a garden, etc....I will be by your work shortly.....I think I am pretty much caught up, so I start going backwards in my fan list....I have a system, and I have people.......lol

Thanks for the article. I am still new to search warp and so I read and comment as much as I can. I try to read some of my favorite writers and some of the new writers. I get emails for new articles submitted and then sometimes I just go to the home page and start reading from there. I comment most of the time just to let folks know I am reading their articles and do appreciate them. I am not sure about how the rating system even works. I am sure I will learn eventually.

Hello Linda, I wouldn't even worry about the rating system. I have learned to just enjoy the read and writing part of it...SearchWarp is great for getting your stuff out there on the internet....(just type your name on google, and you will see some of your work, my work (if you type in Gary W. Halsey Sr.), it exposes your work to the world. You can't buy that kind of exposure....so in a way....that ratings are just secondary....Thanks for reading my stuff, I will do the same for You Linda, and welcome aboard....SearchWarp is a great place to read, and / or write. Your pal, and friend in pen, and fan.....Gary
