To My Wife Christine

I remember many, years ago,
it was indeed, by sheer luck,
I met this wonderful woman Christine,
And Cupid shot me in the butt!!

She was my soul mate,
I know that now,
but I didn't know it then
We went out campin' together one week,
and he shot me in the butt again!!

Most folks would have known,
right from the get go,
but this cowboy bein' thick headed,
it took twice, for me to know.

Well that was 27 years ago,
and that my friends is a so true,
That if Cupid hadn't shot me in the butt,
I could have missed her too.

So every time Valentines rolls around,
I know just what to do,
I get her a card, flowers, and a teddy bear,
tis my way of sayin' I love you.

She's not much for candy,
she worries about what I spend,
But when you love someone,
as much as I do her,
all I can do is grin.

There's nothing in the world,
that I wouldn't do for my love,
for that 27 years of good memories,
and thank that ole Cupid above.

So thank you Cupid,
and please know this
that I now owe you one,
and I'm glad you didn't miss!!!
