I asked myself, why me? What did I do to deserve this? Of course I am talking about a opportunity that I had receiving 13.5 Million dollars! The beauty of it was, I didn't even know the person...how good is that? I had received a letter from a generous soul in Nigeria, and they had informed me that a High Level official that had been assinated by the rebel soldiers over there, and he had willed to me....yes to me....13.5 million U.S. Dollars. They picked me, to be the lucky American, to "handle" this money for an Trustee over there, as he feared that the rebels would "Steal" the money to put it towards their own cause, which was to buy arms, and rocket launchers for their army. Also Twinkies and munchies for the soldiers to snack on. Wow, The total amount summed up to be about 13.5 million, and they would give me 10%....what a deal.
Also, I ran across a wonderful career opportunity, and was offered a job, by a man, who was located in the UK, that was a real estate broker. He told me that he owned properties here in the states, but needed a person that was a citizen of the United States, to receive the checks from his buyers, and take them to....you guessed it....Western Union, and my astonishing reward would be to keep 10% of the total amount of the check, the checks would average no more than $5,000.00 US dollars. Now, when I get the check from ABC company, I would take it down to Western Union, and they will cash it for me for a fee. I was to get the transaction number, and forward all but 10% of the check to a provided address, but I had to call the recipient first immediately after sending it, and give him the transaction number, for him to get his money!! Wow.
I was so impressed with this outstanding offer, that I brought the FBI, and the local Police Department in on it to ask them if they wanted a share, of course, they didn't, and to show them the checks I had received. Well, consequently, this individual told me that he had gotten my name off of Careers.com, and that he knew I was seeking a job. And he, out of the kindness of his heart, wanted me to work out of the house, so that I could be their to receive these checks. The police looked at the checks, and they said were real!! They continued to explain to me, that "If it's to good to be true, It usually is"!! I knew that.
I asked the police, and the FBI if they will trace these checks, and they said no. Apparently by the time the transaction is received in whatever city I was instructed to send the money to, the guy, once he had the transaction number of Western Union, would go pick up the money, run to his bank to draw out the $5000.00 where the funds were verified, and not only would I be the lucky person to receive 10% of this money, but I would also be stuck with the balance of $4,500.00 dollars that the guy made off with, not to mention the fees and fines, and court cost for cashing fraudulent checks....and possible jail time. Wow....glad I asked.
I just wanted to let my friends and fans know out there, that these scams are real. People are taken for a ride everyday in scams like these. The police says to always say to yourself, "If it's to good to be true, it ALWAYS is"! Beware what you put on the Internet, i.e. Career.com, and Jobing .com, they are totally unaware that people are doing this. Well now they know, and are taking actions to come up with something where they can screen employers better. So, I guess I really didn't loose $13.5 million after all, and I did refuse that job, only because I was wise enough to bring the police in on this, give them the checks to research, and of course, I wasn't born yesterday.....Please beware of these scams!...hope this was informative for you.
