To My Mother
This is a tribute,
to my Mother,
When I was young,
there was no other.
She was there,
when I was growing' up,
She took care and mothered me,
and to her, I looked up.
The backbone and brains,
she was quite Devine,
Brought structure to the house,
that mother of mine.
And as a child,
I didn't understand,
What it took to grow up,
and be a man
She was patient and loving,
that was a fact.
And as a man,
she taught me,
How I should act.
Dad always gone,
she was mostly alone,
Except when us kid's,
all came running' home.
Three of us,
That was a task,
‘Twas till this day,
that I finally asked.
"Mother dearest,
how hard could it be,
Raising three fine children,
my sisters and me"?
she knew what to say,
"You give it a try,
and then I will pray".
"I have no regrets,
you needn't fear,
I loved raising you kids,
throughout the years".
It's being alone,
is what I dread most,
Not feeling needed,
not making your toast.
Being a Mother,
that's all I know,
To be anything else,
God could only show.
Will I make it, oh yes,
my child have no fear,
and when I am lonely,
I hope you'll live near.
For raising my children,
and being' a wife,
Is all that I have known,
throughout my life.
I love you kids,
and that is a fact,
For living without you,
Hoe should I act?
A mother's maternal instincts,
Is so strong don't you know,
that even when your grown,
and you have to go.
A mother will always show,
her love and affection,
unconditional, and devoted,
To the point of perfection.
So be there for me,
and I will you too,
All we have is each other,
I will always think of you.

"My Mother, My Friend, you have my unconditional love and respect. May You Rest In Peace"
Great poem Gary. I know that I felt an empty loneliness that is hard to deal with when I lost each of my parents. It is simply different when you know that you no longer have them to turn to. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Joel, thank you so much for reading this poem, I know what your saying, I do miss my mom, she and I were quite close, she will be dearly missed and always thought of, again, thank you for your kind comments.
Great job Gary and you were fortunate to have that love in your life to carry with you and onto your own. Best wishes.Thank you Robert for your Review.....She was a wonderful woman, and I thank you for your words of encouragement...you know the old saying, you never know what you have until you loose it? Well, I knew what I had, and I miss her dearly. Thanks again for reading this, and I am sorry it took so long to respond.....
What a great tribute to your mom, Gary. Good jobThanks Ken, I really appreciate your reviewing ALL of my past works, wow, you have certainly dedicated some time, and it is really appreciated...I think one more day and I will loose my Gold, but hey at least I was there for awhile:)....I really don't know what the trick is to keeping and maintaining your rating...but all I know is that it is really allot of constant work, which I like, but life doesn't always give you the time unfortunately. But I still like to read the articles, and will probably spend most of my time doing that, as well as writing and I think that there is to much expectations that go into rating....so, I will stick with the norm, hummmm Silver ain't that bad!!!! Thanks again for your comments....Your pal,and friend in pen.......Gary.
SUPER POEM GARYMADE ME THINK OF MY MOM.WISH I COULD HAVE DON MORE.THANKSThanks Mike for reading my poem, and I am glad it made you think of your mother....we only have one...even when they are gone, we think of them don't we.....thanks again my friend. I am writing two books, so I haven't been able to write on searchwarp, although I anticipate being able to do so once again in the near future.....I miss you guys!!!!
